Budget Uncertainty
Important info from School Board Chairman Ryan Sawyers reveals the stakes around the May 6 Board of County Supervisors meeting that will decide if funding will support the unanimously-passed 2016-17 School Board budget for educating 88,000 PWCS students. Click for the facts

Welcome to Lake Ridge Elementary School!
Lake Ridge Elementary School is a fully accredited school of 640 students in grades K-5. We're a 15-time Prince William County School of Excellence awardee. We are proud of our French World Languages Program and we love our students!

Kindergarten Registration
Students who will be at least five years old by September 30 may enroll in Kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year. Registration will be held on April 7, 13, and 21, and on May 17.  Please see this flyer for more information or contact Mrs. Deb Neal, LRES Registrar, by phone at 703.494.9153 or email at nealdk@pwcs.edu.
Principal Appreciation
On the morning news, 5th grade CHAMPS and our School Counselor, Miss Johnson, presented LRES principal, Mrs. Sanders, and our assistant principal, Miss McCulla, with posters signed by students and staff thanking them for doing so much for our school! We appreciate our hard-working administrators!
LRES Science Day
Students had lots of fun learning about science during LRES Science Day. We were joined by PWCS Science Supervisor, Dr. Calhoun, and former LRES teacher, Mrs. Moore, for exciting hands-on science-based activities for students at all levels. Special thanks to Mrs. Morton for coordinating this awesome event!  For more pictures, see our Facebook page .
King's Day
In French classes, LRES students learned about la fête des rois (Kings' Day) and eating la galette des rois (Kings' cake). On January 6, French families serve a cake containing a figurine of a king or a dried bean. The person who finds the figurine in his or her piece of cake is crowned "king for a day."  We'd like to thank parents who helped with baking Kings' cakes for our students.
LRES is a School of Excellence!
PWCS has announced that LRES has earned the title, "School of Excellence," by demonstrating high levels of performance during the 2014-15 school year. We're proud to have achieved this distinction. Thank you students, community, and staff for working together to make LRES a wonderful school!

LRES Multicultural Day
We celebrated students' cultures with songs and crafts from around the world. Led by French teachers, Mme Rigot and Mme Saxon, and Music teacher, Mrs. Neal, students sang songs in many languages. Parents, students, and teachers shared customs. Thank you students for your  performances and parents for attending and for volunteering in classrooms!

Flu Season Has Arrived
School officials encourage parents to remind their children of the importance of hand washing to prevent the spread of germs.  Parents are asked to keep sick children at home and to promptly pick up those who become ill at school. Please do not allow children to return to school until they have fully recovered. For more information, please see the PWCS website.
