Parents, ask your children about their Explorer Passports
Explorer Passports will be delivered to schools on Friday, May 18. The Passports give children free admission to parks and attractions in Prince William County. Start off this Saturday at the HCHY EXPO at Pfitzner Stadium, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. View map of activities and schedule of events.

Lake Ridge Elementary School is a fully accredited school of 560 students in grades K-5. We're an 11-time Prince William County School of Excellence awardee. We are proud of our French Program and of having achieved AYP. We're a friendly community and we love our students!
Parent Portal Changes Coming in June
Parents - If you haven't created your own account on Parent Portal, or you need to edit your contact information, now is the time. In June, Parent Portal will be closing down for the summer in these phases:

Friday, June 1 - Parent Portal Registrations and Online Contact Editing will be turned off and no further registration or edits will be accepted until after the new school year transition. NO NEW PARENT ACCOUNTS WILL BE CREATED UNTIL FALL.
Monday, June 18 - All updates to Parent Portal will stop and no further data updates will be sent to SchoolFusion until Fall. Any pending parent registrations that have not been processed will be deleted and those parents will need to reapply next year.
Parent Portal WILL NOT be updated with Summer School Information and no Summer School Information will be sent to SchoolFusion.

Celebrating our School Community
School of Excellence celebrations continued as we thanked our students and volunteers for their hard work. Our students were treated to a Mad Science assembly and every student received an "I am Excellent" tee-shirt in LRES blue. We held a luncheon for our amazing volunteers to celebrate their efforts. LRES is a wonderful school because of its students, parents, staff and community!

Teachers Run in Race
Congratulations to two of our Lake Ridge Elementary School teachers, Mrs. House (3rd grade) and Mrs. Lowe (4th grade), who ran in the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race in Washington, DC. They were amazing and continue to be role models for fitness at our school.

LRES Students Shine at Art Show
The PWCS Art Show was held recently, and it included an exciting sampling of art projects created by LRES students. Here, our Art Teacher, Mrs. Birkhimer, stands with three fifth-graders in front of our school's display. We're proud of our budding artists who contributed pieces such as digital art, prints, sculptures, and paintings!

We're pleased to announce that we have an addition to the LRES staff. Mrs. Rebecca Bolles is our new Administrative Intern. Mrs. Bolles comes to us from Stafford County Public Schools where she taught for nine years. We're excited that she has joined our staff! When you see Mrs. Bolles, please feel free to introduce yourself and welcome her to our wonderful school.

Family Math Night Enjoyed By All
Students and their families enjoyed a wonderful evening of problem solving, game playing, mathematical thinking and fun when they participated in the LRES Family Math Night.
